Sounds of Carolina is a great place to learn to play an instrument. The instructors (Mike and Caitlin are the ones I’ve interacted with) are top notch and really work with you in a no pressure environment. Definitely recommend them for all ages.

Sounds of Music is an excellent place to take your child for music lessons. Caitlin teaches violin and beginner piano. She is amazing with my son. He loves working with her. She connects with him on his level. The atmosphere is cozy and calm. I recommend to anyone wanting to get their child a personalized lesson.

Our daughter has been taking violin for 7 years. Until the end of 2017, she had had basically only one teacher, other than 1 year that this teacher was on maternity leave. When this teacher moved too far away, we reluctantly had to find a new studio/teacher. Thankfully, we found Caitlin Whitehouse at Sounds of Carolina. We thought we were going to have to sample several teachers before finding the right one, but we made the decision to stick with Caitlin after only one lesson. She has been the perfect fit! She understands and encourages a variety of musical styles, and works to provide performance opportunities beyond the standard recital format. She is conveniently located and the fees are competitive.

The studio is warm and inviting, lessons are taught with kindness, laughter and realistic expectations. Caitlin and Brent work well with not only our three children but also with input from us as parents, towards the common goal of instilling a love of music in our children.

About Us

three years ago…

Caitlin Whitehouse began renting an office at the Anderson Arts Center. Little did she know that this was the start of a beautiful musical community that would soon be named Sounds of Carolina (by the students, of course). We are now the proud home of 6 music teachers, 60+ students, and lots of joy. Please enjoy perusing our site and don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions.
